Reasons to file a consumer proposal in Sarnia

by Joel Sandwith on September 13, 2013

Here’s reason number 1:  Surplus income.  For a thorough and detailed explanation of surplus, please see this page on our main website: How Much Will Bankruptcy Cost?  The basic idea is simple though -if you file bankruptcy, the more you make the more we’re required to take from you, to compensate your creditors.

If you file a consumer proposal, however, we help you determine a fair monthly payment, your creditors get to vote (and we take it very seriously to understand what they will be looking for), and then you just make the payments.  If your income improves, that is to your benefit.  If you want to pay more, you can, and this will just get your proposal done more quickly.

In some cases, the amount you pay in a proposal can be half or less of the monthly cost of bankruptcy – it is definitely an option worth looking into.

Give me a call at 310-Plan or 519-344-1058, we can set up a free meeting to go over all of your options.
